Ever since that young and insanely polite Sydney via Toronto dude Lavurn Lee caught us off guard roughly a year ago with his first demos as Guerre, breathtakingly beautiful and intense yet frail bedroom compositions of stripped-down latter day R&B informed by contemporary directions of electronic music, we’ve been watching every single step of this immensely talented artist. And we’ve been waiting quite a while for the release of this EP that might be called his legit debut effort. Seven-track Darker My Love is a terrific piece of modern soul music that most of all shows the huge progress as regards arrangement and production Lee has made since his first steps twelve months ago.
