Hypermagic: “Lasso”.

Brand new stuff by London-based dream-pop project Hypermagic that last year accidentally almost went down in that overwhelming surge of, uh, chillwave-informed or -inspired music. The new material on Sugar however reconfirms that this is and has always been a lot more about more or less classic shoegaze tropes, electrified in a manner Ulrich Schnauss would probably be proud of. Compared to 2010, this has gotten only more epic, as Hypermagic has constructed even higher and more massive walls of sound out of his signature layers of reverberated and, well, washed-out synths.
