From the heart of England comes the ‘sleepy folk’ soundscaper Jamie Russel aka Skye Wide Sea, producing beautiful, bedroom recorded tunes a little in the veins of our very own Holy Spirits, one could say. Russel’s first EP Golden Small carries along a breathing, ocean-like sound, which makes me think of waking up in the purity of morning light (surrounded by the smell of clean sheets and old books), while waves are crashing somewhere in the distance.
