Edmonton, Alberta’s Thomas Michael, the artist formerly known as Jaded Hipster Choir who is now operating under the recording moniker Ghibli, right now is one of the few artists known to me in experimental music who actually still bother to explore new realms of sound and to transcend boundaries of genre and style while always staying on the firm grounds of purest and finest pop, which has always been and will always be the exact open-mindedness this blog was set up to discover. Thus it’s a special pleasure for me to spread the news that Ghibli’s debut full-length Pythia, “a modern ode to the Oracle of Delphi”, is almost finished and will be dropped June 28.
