Feel Alright is the brainchild of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania via Alberta artist Craig Fahner, a gentle reconstruction of avant-la-lettre garage pop that conflates at least three decades of raw, distinctly lo-fi guitar music that despite all its crudeness invariably neglects attitude in favor of classicist harmonization (a feature that in some respects leaves Fahner’s music not too far away from Christian Richer’s magnificent The Haiduks who we had featured last month).
Feel Alright’s debut Hahahahahahaha, recorded as a four-piece, will be released this week as a C20 tape by Montréal imprint Planet Of The Tapes. Below, you can preview/download the wonderfully lush tunes Winter Goth and Oahu Ohio. Backward-leaning without too obviously imitating the past, and just perfect for everything you may be up to this summer.
