Ezekiel Honig: “Subverting the Memory of Your Surroundings”.

Last week, experimental label Type Records released New York minimal artist Ezekiel Honig‘s latest full-length Folding In On Itself, a splendid collection of ten ambient pieces, deeply contemplating and relaxing while at the same time being incredibly sophisticated and ambitiously constructed. Honig’s music is probably the best example I’ve encountered lately to show how much you can achieve with astoundingly few means. The slowly meandering tracks disseminate a mildly melancholic atmosphere, seemingly en passant but without ever losing focus or carrying the listener away.

Listen to the beautiful Subverting the Memory of Your Surroundings below, or stream the whole album over at Type’s Soundcloud.
