The friendly folks over at Sophomore Lounge Records sent over their upcoming release, a collaborative project between Kentucky folk hero Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Brooklyn psych group The Phantom Family Halo. The Mindeater is a 10 inch EP featuring four very restrained, contemporary folk compositions, with the title track being one of Billy’s eeriest efforts in years, a stunning piece building on subtle, acoustic-guitar driven harmonic structures that abruptly come to an end to let the song gently fade with a wonderfully unexpected organ part.
