Thought Tempo: “Soft Day”.

This one kinda caught me off guard. Irvine, California’s Sean Raji aka Thought Tempo‘s curiously off-kilter ambient jam Soft Day needs more than a minute to get started, but then the heavily filtered, slightly early Boards Of Canada-reminiscent synth arpeggios and the loose, supposedly deliberately askew vocal layers over the smooth and trippy beat evolve into a pretty irresistible aural experience. The whole thing gets really extraordinary in combination with the stellar video by Zoom Lens.
The small, Anaheim-based imprint Zoom Lens is also responsible for putting out the Soft Day single, which can be downloaded for free over here.
