Thanks to Emmanuel for the heads-up on the little solo endeavor by Ryan Trott of Brooklyn’s lovely Family Trees, an eight-song collection of “lo-res hi-fi bedroom dream psych garage folk”, but no matter how many redundant genre tags you can put in a row without risking contradictions, fact is this is an utterly beautiful EP, all shimmering and sunny pop gems that draw heavily on 60s Californian surf music, in other words stuff that’ll warm your heart at first listen. Never forget to stay wild and free, you wonderful people.
