New album: Mount St Helens.

According to his bandcamp description, Kiss Kiss Fantastic‘s one half Jeremy Mullins is “just a kid with a mic, a guitar, and music editing software”, but of course you may rest assured that you’ve just read the understatement of the year. On Christmas Eve, Mullins has delivered one of 2010′s most gorgeous pop outputs under his solo recording moniker Optimist Park. Mount St Helens is a collection of gently psychedelic and devastatingly beautiful songs, leaning towards shoegaze and classic, late 80s informed dream pop, with lots of noisy distortion and reverb: an album perfect for getting lost, wherever you are. Download the whole thing for free here and prepare to get all cozy and dizzy and happy and sad.
